Weekly Photo Challenge: Renewal
“I will grow.” Trees growing in the ruins of former houses that were bombed during the war. Shot 2011 in Mostar, Bosnia and Hercegovina.
It was a very impressive scenery. All over the balkans you could see plants and trees moving their way back to life in these bombed ruins, here in Mostar, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Just a few steps away from the famous Stari Most (Old Bridge), which was destroyed in the war in 1993 and finally rebuilt in 2004. When I was traveling there last year, the whole region of the western balkans had this vivid atmosphere of resurrection, reorientation and renewal to me.

Even among ruins there is rejuvination. Nice contribution to the challenge.

Nothing like raising from the ashes of catastrophies…. especially civilizations that pick up the pieces and start rebuilding…

it seems to me, nature always keeps coming back, no matter what. even if it takes a lot of time. thank you for your comment!
Very true…. every concept or idea has roots in the nature.
Despite the foolish human race…nature will stand unconquered!
